Guardians of the Galaxy

When Telltale’s Guardians Of The Galaxy showed “The Mad Titan” Thanos in one of its first trailers, I assumed the big guy would come in and go out for a later setup. It turns out, Episode 1 features the purple villain quite prominently.

“Quit Whatever Your Mouth Is Doing”

Today’s launch trailer seems designed to introduce the world to those unaware. If there’s anyone unaware of the property at this point. The Nova Corp. calls in Star Lord and the Guardians to aid them from Thanos’ wrath. And if the above image tells you anything, it’s that it doesn’t go very well for Quill.

I do have to admit that I’m a bit underwhelmed with the voice acting I’ve seen thus far. Drax seems like a low quality take on Dave Bautista’s rendition. Which I understand, because that’s what the character is. But not hearing Bautista’s inflections on the role is a letdown. The same goes for Quill. Not hearing Chris Pratt’s voice come from the character just seems off. To a lesser degree with Rocket, but it’s still noticeable. Hopefully once we’re emerged in this different narrative those qualms will disappear.

So yeah, Guardians of the Galaxy sees the crew take on Thanos quite early in the series. There is a fully fledged fight going on here with Drax and Gamora delivering attacks while Quill is taking them. I’m very interested to see how Telltale delivers on this one. And there’s only one day until we find out. Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy is out as of tomorrow.

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
