While Kevin Feige is the man behind the curtain running the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you have to wonder what Jimmy Kimmel has done behind the scenes to get all the credit. After airing a new Captain America: Civil War clip just the other night, the man is back with the world premiere of the Doctor Strange teaser trailer. Got to love Disney cohesiveness.
The teaser trailer for the fourteenth film in the MCU is clearly made from early parts of filming. Stephen Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, has been involved in a horrible car accident. It’s here that we get a quick glimpse of Rachel McAdams rushing the world’s top neurosurgeon through the ER. And like that she’s gone. From there, it’s Strange’s road to recover we follow.
We get a couple of quick glimpses of Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo, who in this film isn’t apparently as directly villainous as he is in the comics. If I’m correct, I think we get a quick glimpse of Mads Mikkelsen in tribal looking face paint as well. It’s Tilda Swinton that really steals the show here as the Ancient One. Her look is fantastic, and the all-knowing deliver she brings is top-notch. And of course finally, at the end, we get a quick look at Cumberbatch in the cape.
All in all, not a whole lot was shown of the film in the trailer’s two minute run time, but we get the gist. Doctor Strange officially brings magic and alternate realities to the MCU on November 4th. This one looks like it has all the ingredients to deliver. The trailer is just below, as well as the two posters Marvel has released for the film.
