Who didn’t see this coming, right? When Disney Infinity 3.0 launched back in August with the support of past Star Wars entities, you knew it was only a matter of time before The Force Awakens was brought into the fold. Now, just about 3 weeks before the film’s release (and hype for the movie at a boiling point), Disney Interactive decided it was time to make it official.
Disney Interactive released a new trailer today that may feel like déjà vu to some. It showcases Disney Infinity 3.0 with a nearly shot for shot recreation of the beginning of Star Wars: The Force Awaken‘s final trailer. But after those beginning shots things get a bit sketchy, because after that it seems like we may be getting shots in-game that may contain minor spoilers for the film.
Here’s what Disney has to say about The Force Awakens joining Disney Infinity 3.0:
“Join us for the next chapter of the Star Wars saga in Disney Infinity 3.0. In the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Play Set, players will travel to a galaxy far, far away alongside new heroes and old friends in search for a much-needed ally. Playable characters include Finn, a soldier on a path to adventure and danger, and Rey, a true survivor who is resourceful and capable. Both will join Poe Dameron, the trusted pilot of the Resistance who uses his expert flying skills to travel the galaxy, and Kylo Ren, an enforcer for the First Order who terrorizes the galaxy with devious acts.”
You can pre-order the Star Wars: The Force Awakens play set now, as it doesn’t come out until December 18th. Good timing seeing as it follows the plot of Episode VII and all…
