Breath of the Wild

Nintendo started off their Treehouse Live presentation today with a new trailer for the upcoming Wii U and NX Legend of Zelda entry. At the end, we got the title’s official full name – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is what Link’s next outing is being labeled. We have no idea what the overall plot will hold, as the only tidbit of story seems to stem from a female voice likely talking to Link in his dreams, telling him to “wake up, Link…”

But Breath of the Wild is teeming with just that – wild. Nintendo went out of their way to showcase the game’s incredibly beautiful landscapes and vistas. Hyrule (or what we’re assuming is Hyrule) is loaded with local wildlife too. We see Link hunt boar, chase deer, scare ducks, and break wild horses. Sorry, Epona, looks like one specific horse may be a thing of the past.

The new trailer for Breath of the Wild also seems to validate the fact that the book Link appears to be carrying around has importance. It appears to be a spell book, as it gets some close-up time in the trailer and then Link promptly starts making magic happen. We’re set to see a ton more from this game today, but for now, here’s the trailer:

Growing up a 90's kid, Jeff found his love for gaming during Nintendo's heyday. Because of that, you could call him a "Nintendo Fanboy" (albeit a rational one) to this day. Outside of his passion for the gaming industry, he’s also an avid sports enthusiast (New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies mainly) and enjoys quality/popular TV shows and movies.
