With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt being released May 19th of this year, it was inevitable that expansions would become playable for fans of this franchise. This morning, it was announced that The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone is going to be available to play this October, and fans could not be more excited.
According to The Witcher 3’s official website, you will once again take a stand as Geralt of Rivia. Because of his professional slaying techniques, he is hired to ultimately take down Olgierd von Everec, a merciless bandit captain who just so happens to retain the power of immortality (of course).
With all of this hype surrounding this digital release, there will also be a limited boxed edition ($19.99) which contains a digital code of Hearts of Stone and two physically playable decks of Gwent cards. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, a rulebook is included as well.
Fans will be happy to hear that this isn’t some lame expansion with only a few hours of playable content. As a matter of fact, The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone is said to have over ten hours of nonstop adventure. What should we expect to encounter? Players will be introduced to new characters, a peculiar romance plot, challenging combat, and an entirely new storyline based on player decisions.
The studio also confirmed today that though you are able to play this expansion even if you haven’t completed the main segment of the game, you will have to be above the level 30.
