Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot is one of the more outspoken CEOs in the video game industry. Today was no different.

While on a quarterly earnings call, the Ubisoft CEO spoke with investors about what he’s seen on Nintendo’s upcoming platform. “What we have seen is really great,” he explained. “We think having a new machine coming is going to help the industry to continue to grow, and to take lots more casual players back to the industry.”

It’s interesting to note that Ubisoft (so far) is the only major third-party publisher to publicly announce an NX game. (Just Dance 2017). This isn’t the first time Ubisoft has jumped on board a Nintendo platform right out of the gate. The company also supported Nintendo’s Wii U when it first launched, with a plethora of games (Zombi U for the win!)

While Yves didn’t reveal any new details on the console, it’s great to see Ubisoft is passionate and excited for what Nintendo could potentially be bringing with the NX. Besides, any console (or software) that gets more people into gaming, is something that we want.

Recently, Nintendo saw the release of Pokemon GO, which has since become a phenomenon. You can listen to our special Point Taken on the game here. Or, check out Alessandro’s op-ed about the way Pokemon GO has already changed our lives.
