The pages on the Xbox official website for Wolfenstein 2 and The Evil Within 2 have been updated to show that it will support 4K and be enhanced for Xbox One X. Both games are due to be released in October this year, a few weeks ahead of the scheduled November 7th release date for the XboxOne X.
What remains to be seen, is if the games will actually support full 4K resolution. Either way, we should still see a significant visual upgrade to the standard 1080p versions of the games.
Other Potential 4K Games
In a recent interview at E3, Pete Hines, the VP of PR and Marketing for the games’ publisher- Bethesda, stated ‘We’re looking for all our studios to add a level of support for Xbox One X’. He went on to confirm that they were currently working to get Skyrim and Fallout 4 supported on the One X too. Other titles published under the Bethesda banner that may be optimized in the future include Doom, Dishonored 2 and Prey.
Fans will be excited to see early support for the console. And with October being a particularly busy month for game releases, it’ll be interesting to see what else will be receiving the 4K treatment in the coming months.
