Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold are starting the marketing push for Wolverine 3. Expect, Wolverine 3 isn’t Wolverine 3 anymore. Instead, Jackman revealed that the final Wolverine picture has been renamed. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to get excited for Logan.

“Guys… seriously… You don’t wanna do this.”

The Jackman/Mangold team actually dropped quite a bit into our laps today. It was Jackman that dropped news of the film’s title change. Earlier today Jackman posted a picture of himself in front of a huge Logan billboard at the intersection of Bleecker and Lafayette in New York City:

Here is the poster in high-resolution courtesy of Mangold:

Mangold also gave fans a treat by posting a picture of page 2 of the Logan script:

You can really gather a feel for what Logan is going for by just this one page. It was previously revealed that the 3rd Wolverine film would be R rated. But this really drives it home. Wolverine’s first line of dialogue on page 2 is “fuck”. So there’s that. But the next three paragraphs are specifically included to give script readers the vibe in which Logan is striving for:

“Now might be a good time to talk about the “fights” described in the next 100 or so pages. Basically, if you’re on the make for a hyper choreographed , gravity defying, city-block destroying, CG fuckathon, this ain’t your movie.

In this flick, people will get hurt or killed when the shit falls on them. They will get just as hurt or just as killed if they get hit with something big and heavy, like, say, a car. Should anyone in our story have the misfortune to fall off a roof or out a window, they won’t bounce. They will die.

As for our hero, well, he’s older now and it’s clear his abilities aren’t what they once were. He’s fading on the inside and his diminished healing factor keeps him in a constant state of chronic pain – hence booze as a painkiller.”

It’s appearing more and more likely that Mangold is indeed adapting the recent Old Man Logan story from the recent comics. We should know shortly though. With Logan releasing on March 3, 2017, we’ve got to be getting a trailer here soon.
