It’s official. After rumors circulated a few weeks back, StarWars.com has announced that Woody Harrelson is officially onboard the young Han Solo film.
Who – Or What – He’s Playing Is Still Far, Far Away.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, co-Directors on the Han Solo movie, discussed the choice on the site:
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody. His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
It sounds like Woody may have won a game of table tennis to secure themselves a role…
The movie has still yet to be officially titled. Slated to release in 2018, it features Alden Ehrenreich as the titular character. Emilia Clarke is officially onboard as well in an undisclosed role. And Donald Glover is playing a young Lando Calrissian.
StarWars.com hints that “this Star Wars Story is the second in a series of films that live outside the Skywalker family saga, and is set during the early scoundrel days of the iconic characters, prior to A New Hope.”
